Thomas ``WeiseGamer`` Hughes
Thomas is a gamer, developer. and the face behind WeiseGamer. Starting around the age of 4, Thomas’ earliest memories of gaming include playing Mike Tyson’s Punch-Out on the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), and Adventure on the Atari 2600.
These early games set the foundation of Thomas’ love of gaming, exploring interactive worlds, deep story-lines, and characters far beyond his own imagination.
As time passed, Thomas became more and more interested in PC Gaming and computers in general. Building his first computer at a young age, Thomas was hooked on the intricacies of finding out how things work, tinkering with all kinds of things.
In March of 2015, Thomas decided he wanted to turn his passion for gaming into a platform for marketing and promoting the independent developers that didn’t have the large budgets to reach a large audience themselves. Through his channel, www.YouTube.com/WeiseGamer, he interviewed developers, previewed games in early-access and in crowd-funding campaigns, and reviewed newly released games from a large variety of indie developers.
Since inception, Thomas has grown his channel to have a very targeted, niche audience, providing a platform and source for quality reviews, news, and interviews of various developers and their video games. Today, he continues his mission to promote independent developers, and to inspire others to get into development as well.
In High School, Thomas decided he wanted to be a software developer. After graduation, he joined the Army as an Intelligence Analyst as a means to pay for tuition. After completing his service, he enrolled in Western Governors’ University and completed his Bachelors of Science in Software Development in March of 2017. During his final year of college, he received an offer to work for Hewlett Packard Enterprise as a Software Engineer. This technical background, combined with a passion for gaming, has allowed him to excel in his ability to translate the technical aspects of making a game into laments terms understood by a wide audience.
